Set Designer
Kaajel began her set designing journey while studying Fine Art at Wimbledon College of Art. She began making installations with her 2d abstract paintings and began working with performance in these space. As she focused in on these ideas these ‘set ups’ started to act as set design to elaborate movement performances. This was a common theme in her drawings in the time she didn’t have the capacity to continue these ideas. She picked this up again at the Young Vic theatre where she studied ‘Introduction to Design’ a short course to help young creatives expand their knowledge in the area, speak to people in the field & get making.
From this she went on to making her her first real set design at the Royal Court Theatre’s Jerwood Space for new play called ‘Katzenmusik’ by Tom Fowler. Since this she has continued to learn & make exciting theatre designs for large & small scale productions. As of late she had turned to designing short films.
